Two-Week Performance Camp

Oh the things you can think, when you think about Seuss! Imagine all the places you’ll go in this jam-packed, fun-filled, theatrical whirlwind! Everyone is cast, and everyone learns, rehearses, and performs a show…in two weeks! Join Horton the Elephant, the Cat in the Hat, and your favorite Dr. Seuss characters in this adventure to save the Whos and learn the power of friendship.
This camps culminates with a performance at 3:00pm on the last day.

Sometimes it’s good to be bad! Sing, dance, and act your way toward becoming a triple threat. This week we combine all three elements of musical theatre to take on songs, dances, and scenes centering around the dramatic lives of the children of famous villains in the Disney film series Descendants!

Scenes from the World of Minecraft

Pick up your pickaxe, it’s time to go on a Dungeon Crawl! In this camp, we will venture into the world of Minecraft to explore a new adventure. Students will collaborate with others, act with their bodies and voices, tell stories, take risks, and explore the world of blocks!

JULY
Actor Boot Camp
7/6-7/10, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Grades 3rd-8th
This one-week training lab is tailored specifically to young artists eager to level up their craft! Under the guidance of a team of teaching artists, campers will rotate through four sessions each day to expand their skills in the areas of acting, movement, musical theatre, and improvisation. The program culminates in a final sharing, where participants will showcase their work and demonstrate the progress they’ve made.

When You're An Addams
Grades 3rd-5th
"Dun-nuh, nuh, nuh.” *Snap*Snap* They’re creepy and they’re kooky, mysterious and spooky, they’re all together ooky! This week students take on songs, dances, and scenes from the musical The Addams Family! Acting, character work, and scene analysis pair with a bit of fright to explore this modern Broadway hit.

Performance Series: The Lion, The Witch, and the Wardrobe
7/13-7/31 (M-F), 9:30 am - 2:30 pm**

The YTN Performance Series: Everyone is cast and the session culminates in a full production. Students work together for three weeks with YTN super-star educator Amy J. Ferguson to create basic production elements using items from home, YTN stock, and their own creations. Sometimes we share the stage with another show, sometimes it’s all our own, the adventure changes every session keeping us on our toes and presenting endless opportunities for creative problem solving and teamwork. And this summer's Performance Series is: The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe!
The Pevensie children (Peter, Susan, Edmund, and Lucy) discover a wardrobe that leads to magical land of Narnia, a frozen land terrorized by the White Witch. Lucy meets friendly creatures, while Edmund is lured by the Witch’s false promises. The children join Aslan, the true king of Narnia, and with Aslan’s help, they lead a great battle against the Witch! All before eventually returning home through the wardrobe.
- Week 1 (7/13-7/17): Rehearsals this week will be offsite at the Three Dragons Academy located at 102 W Roy St, Seattle, WA 98119
- Week 2 (7/20-7/24) and Week 3 (7/27-7/31): Rehearsals and performances move onsite to the YTN Campus at 4400 86th Ave SE, Mercer Island, WA 98040

K-Pop Drama Hunters

Between two worlds? Come join us for your golden era! Fulfill your acting, vocal, and movement destiny this summer by cracking open your soda pop of imagination within. Students will learn collaboration as well as letting their inner pop star shine. Join Huntrix and the Saja Boys in scenes and songs from the movie.

Comedy Boot Camp

Are you the class clown? Always quick with a joke, cracking up your family and friends? If your student is ready to take their comedy chops to the next level, Comedy Boot Camp is for you! In this summer camp, students will hone their comedic skills through games and exercises designed to get you thinking on your feet, working as an ensemble, and gaining confidence in yourself as you try, fail, and try again!

Monsters, Myths, and PUPPETS!
7/20-7/24, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Grades 3rd-5th
Explore the fundamentals of puppetry through storytelling and character creation, with creatures from stories new and old! Students will be introduced to the basics of puppetry, including movement, emotion, focus, and design from industry professional Gavin Cummings. Throughout this summer camp, students will be trained on puppetry fundamentals to bring these inanimate objects to life, through tales of monsters and myths!

Wicked Boot Camp

Spend one short week in the Emerald City! Join Elphaba and Glinda as you sing, dance, and act your way towards becoming a triple threat. This week we combine all three elements of musical theatre to take on songs, dances, and scenes from the musical and movie hit Wicked! So, grab your broom stick and let’s defy gravity!

AUGUST
Week at Hogwarts
8/3-8/7, 9:00 am - 4:00 pm
Grades 3rd-5th
Hop aboard the Hogwarts Express and prepare to explore new magical stories set in the wizarding world. Students will study acting, movement, and character development based around familiar characters, settings, and stories from the beloved book series. Script analysis, character study, blocking, and scene partnering are just some of the valuable acting skills that we will build on in this camp.

Willy Wonka KIDS
Two-Week Performance Camp

Spend Summer with YTN doing the best thing ever: a jam-packed, fun-filled, theatrical whirlwind! Everyone is cast and everyone learns, rehearsals, and performs a show...in two weeks. A musical in ten days? Yes, it can be done!
This camp culminates with a performance at 3:00pm on the last day.
Roald Dahl's Willy Wonka KIDS follows enigmatic candy manufacturer Willy Wonka as he stages a contest by hiding golden tickets in five of his scrumptious candy bars. Whomever comes up with these tickets will win a free tour of the Wonka factory, as well as a lifetime supply of candy. Four of the five winning children are insufferable brats, but the fifth is a likeable young lad named Charlie Bucket, who takes the tour in the company of his equally amiable grandfather. The children must learn to follow Mr. Wonka's rules in the factory — or suffer the consequences.

Avengers, assemble! Nick Fury has a special mission for campers like you: to create our own out-of-this-world scenes inspired by the Marvel universe. Students will study acting, movement, and character development in a world of superheroes and villains.

Greatest Showman:
This Is Me

Run away with the circus and sing, dance, and act your way toward becoming a triple threat! This camp combines all three elements of musical theatre while we take on songs, dances, and scenes from the hit: The Greatest Showman. Acting, character work, and scene analysis come together under the big top to explore this modern classic.

Refund & Cancellation Policy:
YTN will refund tuition less the 25% non-refundable deposit (up to $100) for registrations cancelled at least 1 week prior to the start of a class or camp. Registrations cancelled less than a week prior to the start date will not be refunded.
YTN reserves the right to cancel a class (in instances of insufficient enrollment or for other reasons out of the organization's control). In this case, any tuition paid will be refunded in full, including the registration fee. YTN will notify families 1 week prior to the beginning of class if cancellation is necessary.
No refund or make-up dates will be provided for classes cancelled due to inclement weather.
Covid-19 Specific Cancelation Policies:
If government guidelines change or if quarantine is required, YTN classes and camps automatically transfer to an online format. Refunds will not be granted in this case or in cases where families wish to withdraw due to changing Covid policies (such as mask mandates, health screening, testing, etc.).
Transfer Policy:
Transferring from one session to another after registration will incur a $15 processing fee.
