Annual Campaign

Annual Fund: A letter from the YTN Board

Dear Friend of YTN;

As you may know, for the last month we have been working hard to raise funds through our annual appeal. We'd like to let you know of an exciting new opportunity. Our steadfast benefactors, John and Ellen Hill have pledged a generous gift of $20,000 to YTN. However, we will only receive this gift if we receive individual contributions totaling $50,000 before yearŐs end. So far, we have raised $15,000 and have a long way to go. Please help us meet this challenge and donate today! Of course, we are in the midst of the holidays, so your budgets may be tight. If you cannot make a donation this month but are willing to pledge an amount that will be received early next year, those dollars will be counted in our year-end goal.

As with most non-profits focused on the arts and children, YTN relies heavily on the continued support from its donors. Tuition and ticket sales cover only a fraction of the cost for YTN to provide its outstanding educational programs and professionally produced productions, so individual contributions are critical to our survival. As we celebrate our 26th year, we marvel that YTN has produced more than 130 plays on 1,250 nights for more than 125,000 people. In addition, YTN provides the following to our community:

- With nearly 1,200 children actively involved every year, YTN is one of the leading children's educational arts resources in our area.

- YTN provides a unique, multi-age environment serving children 3 to 18 years oldĐ a safe and healthy place for kids to grow and mature, work together as a team, mentor each other and form life-long friendships.

- YTN awards financial scholarships every year for youth in need.

- YTN sponsors unique outreach programs to local libraries, schools, and other organizations like the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center for children dealing with the effects of cancer.

- Wonderful productions: 101 Dalmatians, Madeline's Christmas, Dracula, Bye Bye Birdie, It's a Whatchamadoozie (with a Whadayacallit with a Thingamagigit on Top!), James and the Giant Peach and Pinocchio. There's a show for everyone this year at Youth Theatre Northwest!

This year, we have developed some exciting benefits for our donors. All of our donors, regardless of the amount of the donation, will be recognized in our programs. Everyone who gives more than $50 will receive a special YTN reusable tote bag. When you give more than $250, you are a "Silver" donor and will receive two free tickets to the show of your choice. "Gold" donors give more than $500 and, in addition to the Silver donor benefits, are recognized in the lobby mural for the year. There is also the chance for show sponsorship. "Platinum" sponsors give more than $2,500 and are recognized as a sponsor for one of the shows in both the program and the poster. This option is a fabulous idea for companies who would like to outreach to our many patrons and demonstrate their support of children and arts. And, if your workplace has an employee-matching program, your donation doubles!

We hope that you will donate to YTN this year and keep the magic of performance alive for our children. There are several ways to donate.
You may call our front desk, 206-232-4145 ext. 100, to make a donation over the phone using your credit card.
You may email Megan Nichols at megannichols@hotmail.com and let her know you would like to donate along with a phone number where you can be reached. We will contact you to complete the donation. Thank you again for your support. We are looking forward to one of our most successful years ever!

Best Regards,
Megan Nichols and Julie Ogata Ciobanu, Co-Presidents
